2022
Rachel is a finance student at Purdue University and a member of the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program. Her accomplishments include placing 2nd in the 2022 National Black MBA Association Undergraduate Case Competition and receiving both the PIMCO Future Leaders Scholarship and the $25,000 Taco Bell Live Más Scholarship. She is a Vital Voices Visionaries Fellow and has fellowship experience with Bridgewater Associates, D.E. Shaw, Gener8tor, BCG, and Deutsch NY. Rachel is a previous finance intern at Google and former participant in the Harvard Summer Venture into Management Program and IDDEAS@MITSloan.
At age 12, Rachel began anti-trafficking advocacy and has supported global organizations that fight modern-day slavery, with a core focus in labor exploitation. Currently, she serves as a member on the Fair Labor Association Student Committee. At 17, she co-founded Building Financial Freedom (BFF), her financial education organization that has educated audiences globally. Rachel is a board member for Lafayette Urban Ministry, and she served as an Institute for Youth in Policy Fellow and a 2023 YOUNGA Youth Delegate. She is also an ambassador for the World Summit Awards and remake.world. Additionally, Rachel is a board representative for Lafayette Urban Ministry, and she is a member of both the Indiana Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority (IHCDA) YAB.
Rachel's primary career interests are investment management and impact investing. She also enjoys studying and engaging in philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, venture capital (VC), education policy, and economic development. She has additional interests in writing, ethical fashion, the Spanish language, criminal justice, labor policy, blockchain technology, and documentary production. In the future, Rachel wants to combine her passion for social impact and interest in business to create a VC firm that invests in social enterprises focused on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Rachel has been featured on AccessWire, the Next Gen Personal Finance Speaker Series, and the National Youth Leadership Council's podcast. In 2024, Rachel was honored as a Her Campus e.l.f.ing Amazing 22 Under 22 Winner and served as a speaker for the UNA-USA Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Youth Consultation on the International Day of Education.
